Presenting at the Murray Edwards Graduate Symposium 2025
04 July, 2025 by Anna Maria Zühlke O'Connor Del Fiorentino

It was an honour to give the first presentation at this year’s Murray Edwards Graduate Symposium: Alma Mater, Nourishing Mother? Women’s Longing and Belonging in Public Universities in Brazil and England (Thursday, July 3, Buckingham House, Murray Edwards College).
The event began with opening remarks from our College President, Dorothy Byrne — a woman I deeply admire for her generous sharing and honest remarks committed to empowering women — followed by my talk.
Sharing my work with the college community in this setting reinforced the importance of connecting research across disciplines, experiences, and perspectives. It was also a pleasure to be among a younger generation of women researching STEM topics, brilliantly sharing their work and expanding the conversations across the sciences and humanities.
